Call to Holiness Information page

Archbishop Burke is a member of the Call to Holiness Advisory Board. We at
Call to Holiness are overjoyed with this appointment. His new position is
often referred to as the "
Vatican's Supreme Court." He will
serve as leader of the Church's supreme tribunal which ensures that justice
is correctly administered.
The Tribunal oversees the administration of justice within the Church,
examining administrative matters referred to it by the Congregations of the
Roman Curia, as well as questions sent to it by Pope Benedict XVI.
Archbishop Burke will leave the Archdiocese of St. Louis in late August to
begin his new assignment in Rome.
Born in 1948 in Wisconsin, ordained by Pope Paul VI in 1975, named Bishop of
La Crosse, Wisconsin in 1994 and the eighth archbishop of Saint Louis in
2004, Archbishop Burke has spoken out boldly against "Catholic" politicians
who support abortion and other actions opposed to magisterial truths.
St Louis' and America's loss is a great benefit to the one, holy, catholic
and apostolic church. We are very pleased by this announcement.
Please pray for him in his new assignment.
The next Call to Holiness Conference will be held on
Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the National Shrine of the Little Flower, Royal
Oak, Michigan.
Monsignor William Easton, Pastor. This will be the
12th Call to Holiness Conference. Details are to follow soon.
The topic will be on What's happen to
the Liturgy.
It should be very interesting because the whole conference will focus
on the Old Rite (Tridentine ) and the New Rite. There will be a walk
through of the Mass explaining to the people the contents, structure and
details of the Mass - Why the priest does what he does during the Mass
regarding hand positions, bowing, kneeling, etc.
Explanation on where did "Agnus Dei" and several other Latin usages
come from?
Origin of the Vestments, Vessels, Art, Statues, Architecture
(building) and its changes through the years.
Origin of the Music - Chant
Translation of the Roman Text - The Bible and it's role in the Mass
Changes in the Mass over the years - Why?
Aspects on all the Benedictine ideas of the Mass - where did all of
this originate from?
